Cambar’s technology engagement life cycle process consists of five distinct phases which encapsulate sets of various work streams and activities. Each phase concludes with a governance checkpoint. Each checkpoint provides an opportunity to authorize continued work on the engagement. Cambar’s engagement governance approach is designed to be risk tolerant and to facilitate easy flow within and among the engagement phases. Engagement phases are event driven, that is they begin when the required information is available. Prescribed work within multiple phases progresses in parallel. Governance checkpoints at the end of phases provide the opportunity to balance the risk of any wasted effort against the desire to keep the engagement moving. Envision

The Envision phase defines the vision and scope for the engagement. Cambar’s Technology Engagement Process begins with Cambar’s technology innovation consultants meeting with the client to identify the business and engagement goals. These goals describe what the engagement is going to accomplish and produce. This is what we refer to as the Engagement Vision. Once the Engagement Vision is established, our technology innovation consultants define the requirements of the engagement and design a solution that meets them.

Plan

The Plan phase further defines in more detail a work plan to deliver the scope of the engagement. When the client approves the requirements definition and solution design, Cambar technology consultants create the engagement work plan. The engagement work plan estimates the delivery timeframe and budget, tasks, roles and deliverables.

Build

The Build phase initiates, manages and develops the expected deliverables. Once the client approves the engagement work plan, and the time and budget estimates, our technology innovation consultants begin implementing the engagement. Using an iterative, agile approach, our technology innovation consultants are able to quickly and accurately progress through the engagement work plan; make necessary plan and scope refinements; adapt to any changing requirements and complexities; and improve the accuracy of time and budget estimates. Each iteration results in the completion of a stable portion of the expected deliverable.

Stabilize

The Stabilize phase readies the expected deliverables for release to intended users. Stabilization is a critical component of each iteration of work within the Build phase. The smooth integration of iterative development and testing supports rapid development with continuous learning and refinement. Deliverable development and testing occur in overlapping iterations resulting in quick, incremental completion of the engagement. At the completion of this phase, the client accepts the expected deliverables for deployment within the enterprise.

Deploy

The Deploy phase releases the deliverables to intended users who are fully trained in their use. During deployment, Cambar technology innovation consultants move the deliverables into the production environment for real-time business use. At the completion of this phase, the expected deliverables become fully deployed within the enterprise, users are completely trained, and the engagement is formally closed.
